In 2015, while under construction, GlaxoSmithKline Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Nottingham was destroyed by fire. To have a sustainable carbon neutral building turned to carbon might seem ironic, yet it also talks of the natural cycle of birth, growth and decay. To commerate this event the University commissioned these drawings for the buildings replacement. They are made with a once common office supply used to duplicate typed documents – carbon paper .
